Project Governance
The 3-Way Test
We have evolved a unique “3 way test” for gate-keeping all projects.
  1. The primary test is whether it benefits wildlife and biodiversity.
  2. The second test is whether it creates a win-win situation between the wildlife and biodiversity that we are aiming to conserve, and the local communities.
  3. The third test is whether it is sustainable.
The 3 Way-test is a powerful governance mechanism that can be applied to conservation and restoration projects anywhere in the world.
Project Governance Committee
The Project Governance Committee comprises of independent persons (except the Chairman) and has responsibility for the following:
  1. Gate-keeping and ensuring new projects are in line with Junglescapes’ vision, principles and the 3-way test.
  2. Providing guidance on project design.
  3. Monitoring project implementation and outcomes.
Consultations with stakeholders
Our projects are conceived and implemented in consultation and close co-ordination with key i.e. local stakeholders i.e. Forest managers / departments and local community bodies (Eco- Development Committees and Self-help groups).
Project expenditure and overheads
We target to spend at least 85% of donor and grant moneys towards our projects. We have been able to achieve this continuously since inception. Being a volunteer-driven NGO helps us keep non-project overheads below 15%.
